About Impact Testers

CALTECH INDIA offers Impact Tester. The Impact Tester has been designed to test the endurance of coated material, when impacted by a falling weight at specified points. This tester is designed to test the impact endurance of coating material (after coated). Put the coating face of specimen upwards, and connect it with specified radius Impact Head, then use a certain weight to impact the Impact Head on a fixed height, afterward, check the damage or deformation of coating.

To do an impacting test for painting and coating materials is to use an impacting head with various round angles to touch the specimen in the beginning, and then a selected weight free dropping from a certain height to hit the impacting head to impact the specimen. Running the same way to test three more specimens, and put and leave them for an hour, and then watch if there is crack on the painting.

It is compatible with ASTM D2794, JISK 5400, CNS 10756.

Advanced Safety and Performance Features

This pendulum impact tester incorporates an automatic brake and complete enclosure, providing operators with secure use during high-energy testing. Its electromagnetic release mechanism delivers consistent operation, while the high-quality steel frame ensures durability even with frequent use. Designed for both Charpy and Izod methods, the system promotes precise, repeatable results, supporting research, production, and educational environments.

Versatile Applications Across Industrial Sectors

Built for flexibility, this tester evaluates mechanical properties of metals, plastics, and engineering materials. The adjustable measurement range and specimen size make it ideal for manufacturers, laboratories, and service providers in India handling a wide array of standards and quality assurance protocols. Optional USB connectivity also enables integration into modern data management systems for enhanced reporting and analysis.

FAQs of Impact Testers:

Q: How does the electromagnetic release mechanism enhance the testing process?

A: The electromagnetic release mechanism ensures precise and consistent pendulum operation by eliminating manual intervention, thereby enhancing repeatability and reducing human error during impact testing.

Q: What types of materials can be tested with this impact tester?

A: This equipment is suitable for metals, plastics, and various other engineering materials, supporting standard specimen sizes of 10 x 10 x 55 mm with a specimen diameter of 10 mm.

Q: When should the enclosed safety guard be used during testing?

A: The enclosed safety guard must always be engaged during operation, protecting users from accidental contact with moving parts and containing fragments that may result from sample breakage.

Q: Where is this impact tester typically utilized?

A: This pendulum impact testing machine is widely employed in laboratory environments, quality control departments, production facilities, and research institutions throughout India.

Q: What is the process for exporting test data from the equipment?

A: For digital models, data can be exported through an optional USB interface, enabling efficient transfer of results to computers for further analysis or record-keeping.

Q: How does the automatic brake improve safety and usage?

A: The automatic brake promptly stops the machine after each test cycle, reducing the risk of injury and minimizing equipment wear, which is particularly useful in busy laboratories and production lines.

Q: What are the benefits of the high accuracy and resolution in this impact tester?

A: With an accuracy of 0.2% of range and a resolution of 0.1 Joules, users can rely on precise measurement of impact energy, supporting detailed evaluation and compliance with stringent testing standards.
